Day 2 Day Mumbo Jumbo... · Pondering Thoughts

No particular thing to say…

I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekends, well for those that have the luxury of having MLK Jr. day off. For today’s post I have no particular train of thought other than I promised myself I would not go weeks between post. It’s part of my get to stepping plan! I had a beautiful lazy weekend with my family and very much enjoyed the extra day with the kiddos being home. I was even able to take the girls to the park yesterday as mother nature decided to give us a break from the winter winds with a 65* day! Of course in Mo. fashion though we are back to the 20’s and 30’s today! Craziness I tell yah. The weather here is just as predictable as life. HAHA. As they say here in Missouri if you don’t like the weather wait till tomorrow! Isn’t that everything in life though? One never knows what tomorrow will hold and I think that is the beauty in it all! If you have a crappy day today, well, tomorrow could go very differently. Or, better yet you can learn to make your days fantastic no matter what may be going on. After all you are still alive!

In spirit of remembering one of the  great “light” workers Martin Luther King I would like to share one of my favorite quotes of his…

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” ~ Martin Luther King Jr.
Oh how true this is…and not just the darkness from others or hate for others but for yourself also. It has to start with yourself first. How on earth could you expect the world to love and shed light on things if you do not do this for yourself? A very difficult lesson for many to learn but the freedom and change you will see when you conquer the darkness, when you conquer love, is amazing! We need to embrace this thought process more. This next thought might give me some recoil but I don’t think that society remembers the things that are important on this day.

I don’t have a problem with days like MLK Jr. day. Remembering the ones who fought for what was right and what they believe in. But, I do feel that society doesn’t really gain what they should from his speeches. I don’t think they truly grasp what the day should be about. Instead it still focuses on segregation. Focuses on the wrongs of our society. Shows how far we really haven’t gotten. Instead of remembering a man who loved all. Who saw no difference in the color of our skin. Who had hope for our future, for man kind. Most people remember the horrific things black people had to suffer through. We focus on the fact that he was killed in cold blood. We focus on the hate behind it all, rather the love & compassion this man really had. When will we stop focusing on the differences? When will we stop talking about the segregation that still continues today? Sure it isn’t as bold as it once was but if we are honest our whole world is still segregated in one way or another. The rich from the poor. The religious from the spiritual. The activist from the passivist. Let’s face it we as humans like to focus on our differences. I know Mr. King would be proud that he was able to help many african americans but in my opinion he is looking down thinking to himself we still have so far to come. We still are not truly working together. We are however on our way…no doubt about that. The shift and change in consciousness is happening whether we like it or not. I just hope more will join the light and choose to not be left in the darkness. I am confident that many will join. It’s hard not to when your blessed with the opportunity to jump into the light! Who wants to be left in the dark? I know some will choose to stay there. But I will keep being the light! I will keep spreading it as far and wide as I can!

Being human sure is a trip! LOL. I can see why I chose to take a ride in this kind of adventure. I sat down today thinking what in the world am I going to write about? I have absolutely nothing to say. I just knew I had to write something because it was part of this process of mine to achieve what I am setting out to do and look I was able to whip out a post after all. I had no idea where it was going to take me. I had no idea how I was going to keep my theme of living life easy and free. Hoping to get a positive message of some sort out into the universe. Before I knew it I had something to say. I had a thought process. Here I am finishing the post. Sure it isn’t exactly what my analytic mind thinks it should be…but heck I posted something by golly! I could have sat down all mopey with a frown on my face thinking to myself…Ughhh I have nothing to say…but instead I chose to smile and say forget about it I’ll just start typing and whatever comes out is what comes out! With that being said don’t be afraid to take action. Don’t be afraid to be the LIGHT! Don’t be afraid to be different. Don’t worry what others will think. Embrace stepping out of the darkness. Embrace love. Loving yourself. Loving others. Embrace life! I never would have known what was going to come of this post if I just decided to not write! Funny how that works ;0p who’da thunk it!

Peace, Love & Mahalo! ❤ Shanda
